DIN EN 50446 defines the terminal head design types A and B, which differ in size and also slightly in their shape. Aluminum or plastic is used, depending on the application. These design types are suitable for the installation of a two-wire transmitter.

Measuring inserts for screw-in thermocouples

With terminal head form B Basic type: 909742

The measuring inserts for screw-in thermocouples with a form B terminal head are used as replacements. They are suitable for screw-in thermocouples according to data sheet 901020. Sheath measuring inserts are available for measuring insert lengths as of 800 mm.

To prevent thermoelectric voltage in the connection between the thermocouple and compensating cable, the contacts for the plug connections and the thermocouple should be made from the same material. Accordingly, non-thermoelectric voltage plug connections with different contacts are available.

The temperature measurement using thermocouples requires the temperature of the cold junction to be measured in addition to the thermoelectric voltage. The cold junction temperature is acquired at the connection terminals of the evaluation electronics.

Flanges

Temperature probes can be easily mounted and removed with stop flanges made of different materials and for different protection tube diameters. The variable positioning of the insertion length is also an advantage. A counter flange can be used to seal the measuring point up to 1 bar.
